About Course

1. Listening
Duration: Approximately 30 minutes + 10 minutes transfer time.
Format: 4 sections, 40 questions in total.
Sections 1 and 2 focus on everyday social situations.
Sections 3 and 4 involve more complex topics, often academic in nature.
Question Types: Multiple-choice, matching, plan/map/diagram labeling, form/note/table/flow-chart completion, sentence completion, etc.
Tips:

Listen carefully: You’ll only hear each recording once.
Use the 10 minutes: Use the time at the end to transfer and review answers.

2. Reading
Duration: 60 minutes.
Format: 3 passages with 40 questions in total.
Academic Reading: Passages on academic subjects.
General Training Reading: Texts from everyday life, workplace settings, and general reading materials.
Question Types: True/False/Not Given, multiple-choice, matching headings, sentence completion, summary/note completion, etc.
Tips:

Skim and scan: Practice these reading techniques to locate key information quickly.
Time management: Spend about 20 minutes per passage.
Identify keywords: Underline or highlight key points in each question to find information faster.
3. Writing
Duration: 60 minutes.
Tasks:
Task 1 (20 minutes):
Academic: Describe visual information (graphs, charts, tables, diagrams).
General Training: Write a letter (formal, semi-formal, or informal).
Task 2 (40 minutes): Write an essay in response to a point of view, argument, or problem.
Word Count: Task 1 (150 words); Task 2 (250 words).
Tips:

Follow the structure: Organize your ideas clearly.
Use appropriate vocabulary: Use formal language, especially in Academic Task 1 and Task 2.
Practice timing: Allocate 20 minutes for Task 1 and 40 minutes for Task 2 to stay on track.
4. Speaking
Duration: 11–14 minutes.
Format:
Part 1 (4–5 minutes): Introduction and general questions on familiar topics.
Part 2 (3–4 minutes): Long turn where you speak for 1-2 minutes on a specific topic.
Part 3 (4–5 minutes): Two-way discussion on more abstract ideas related to Part 2 topic.
Tips:

Speak clearly and confidently: Make sure to elaborate on your answers.
Practice common topics: Topics often cover areas like family, work, hobbies, technology, and culture.
Use a variety of vocabulary and grammar: Demonstrate your language range.
